Editorial Process

  • The author submits an initial draft of their paper following the Style Guide. Pons Aelius operates with an Editorial Review process.
  • The submission is assessed by the editor(s) whose expertise suits the each submission best. The editor seeks to examine whether it fits Pons’ scope, possesses a degree of originality, and maintains Pons’ standard of academic argument.
  • Once the reviews are completed, the submission, outcome, and attached feedback are returned to the contributor(s).
  • Contributor(s) then have the chance to accept the feedback, and edit their submission, or reject it. Rejection does require reasons, submitted to the editors assigned to your submission. They will assess the credibility of the rejection.
  • Assuming the necessary edits are made, the submission is then prepared for the next edition.
