\"Chris\"<\/a>Chris Mowat<\/a> is a second year Classics and Ancient History PhD student, and our current IT and Social Media person. His research is on gender construction and divination in the Roman world. He is also organising AMPAH 2016<\/a>. He is on twitter @chrismologos<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Though currently away on research in Germany, we still managed to get him to answer a few questions…<\/em><\/p>\n

    Gosh, there are so many options\u2026 and I would probably just waste it on going to see the original production of a Shakespeare…<\/p>\n

    1. What book are you currently reading? <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Romanitas<\/em> by Sophia McDougall. Alternate history modern-day Roman Empire, or, as my best friend described it, \u201cLatin Steampunk\u201d.<\/p>\n

      1. What did you want to be as a child?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        So many things, including a best-selling novelist and a window cleaner! True story!<\/p>\n

        1. Can you describe your research in three words?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Roman Sex and Magic.<\/p>\n

          Okay \u2013 that is not exactly<\/em> accurate, but close enough, and it is great to say!<\/p>\n

            1. What\u2019s the worst Classics-related joke that you\u2019re heard and\/or are guilty of telling?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              I have a Classics hoodie that says \u201cmy life is in ruins\u201d. Works for archaeologists, too!<\/p>\n

              1. Have you got any hidden talents?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                Yes.<\/p>\n

                But if I told you, they wouldn\u2019t be hidden!<\/p>\n

                  Professional panda hugger. It is a real job<\/a>, which people are paid real money to do.<\/p>\n
