The committee conducts the Society’s administration and does not operate in an autonomous manner, but satisfies all members. The democratically elected committee consists of Executive members:
- President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
Plus any of the following members:
- Vice President
- Events Officer
- Public Relations Officer
- Social Secretary
All of the committee members shall be registered students of Newcastle University, and each committee member shall serve one complete academic year.
Election of Committee members
- The elections shall be for all the officer positions and shall take place at the end of each long-session in an Annual General Meeting usually annually unless under special circumstances (e.g. the absence of a needed functional position within the organisation).
- A person must be an active member of Pakistan Society for at least one semester before he or she may run for an Officer. A person must be an active member for one year to run for an Executive position.
- The executive committee is responsible for setting up the elections towards the end of each academic year.
Dismissal and Resignation of Officials
- No official shall be deemed to be dismissed unless he or she receives during his/her term of office a vote of ‘no confidence’ from their Executive Committee.
- A dismissed officer may submit himself or herself to an inter-society vote to confirm or overturn the dismissal. Such vote shall be conducted in consultation with the Societies Exec Committee.
- The resignation of an official shall not be of effect unless given in writing to the Society President and until accepted by Executive Committee.
