Welcome to the Official home of the Newcastle University American Football Team, the Raiders. The Raiders are one of many teams competing in the BUAFL league. We are in the Border Conference division of the league which consist of North-Easternly and Scottish teams.

History - The Raiders were one of the original four BUAFL teams which began play in the 1985/86 season (along with Teesside, Hull and Manchester). After this first season, Raiders' success in the following season saw them come close to becoming national champions however they were on the losing end of the inaugural College Bowl of 1987. From 1985/1990 the team was known as the Newcastle Scholars, and from 1990/2002 they were known as the Newcastle Mariners. Newcastle did not compete in the 1991/92 season.
